Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Avionics Engineer to lead development and integration of avionics for unmanned platforms. You will collaborate with GNC, software, mechanical, and thermal teams to deliver robust, tested architectures.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with unmanned aerial systems
• PX4 & ArduPilot development - basic to intermediate understanding
• Knowledge of Pixhawk, MAVLink, sensors in unmanned systems
• RF systems knowledge with software defined radios and comms troubleshooting
• Fundamental electronics: power, protocols, PCB debugging, Altium
• Lab tools: oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, multimeter, soldering, power supplies
• Linux environments and GitHub familiarity
• CAD for prototyping (NX, Teamcenter, etc.)
• System architecture and visualization tools (Lucidchart, draw.io)
• Clear technical writing and version-controlled documentation
• Work ethic and ability to handle tight deadlines
• Passion for aviation and unmanned systems

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate avionics systems
• Guide and mentor earlier career Avionics Integration Engineers
• Define and maintain functionality of avionics systems with vehicle iterations
• Develop high-level block diagrams of system functions and interfaces
• Collaborate with vehicle teams on electrical and system requirements
• Provide design support for iron-birds, prototypes, and special projects
• Troubleshoot avionics hardware and software and implement solutions
• Integrate and test new sensors/subsystems with vehicle prototypes
• Design and support post-integration configurations and checks
• Create processes and training for technicians
• Run tradeoffs of different systems and components
