Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace internship offers hands-on experience in the Air Data Sensors design team. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern you will contribute to integrating sensor packaging, prototype build/testing, design for manufacturing, and documentation while working on advanced air data sensors.

You will support Design Engineers in CAD design, thermal analysis, material science, system testing, data collection, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the internship/co-op.
• Experience with CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, Onshape, or NX (on-the-job, coursework, or projects).
• MATLAB and engineering drawings are a plus.
• Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience working on cross-functional teams.
• Minimum of 60 credit hours by start of internship/co-op.
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical CAD design, thermal analysis, material science, system testing, data collection, and analyzing test data.
• Support Design Engineers in areas listed above.
• Participate in design decision making and lab prototype testing.
• Work within multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams to execute projects on plan.
• Access to world-class labs and wind tunnel facilities to support sensor development.
