Job summary

RTX invites students to apply for a 2027 Mechanical Engineering Intern role in Goleta, CA, joining a skilled team focused on RF system design and electronics packaging. You will contribute to mechanical design activities, analysis, and robust packaging under senior guidance, gaining hands-on engineering experience.

Qualified candidates are pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree with GD&T knowledge and can demonstrate related coursework or projects.

Qualifications

Pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME drawing and documentation standards and procedures.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

Join a talented team delivering new product development and enhancements within the Electronic Warfare Mechanical Design Hardware Section in Goleta, CA.
Design RF systems for challenging thermal and high vibration environments.
Involve electronics packaging design and related thermal/structural analyses.
Work on printed wiring boards, circuit card assemblies, and related manufacturing processes.
