Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to join the Electronic Warfare Mechanical Design Hardware Section in Goleta, California. The role focuses on design, integration, verification and production of digital processor and RF receiver subsystems for airborne platforms. This is an onsite position with potential travel to other RTX facilities.

Required are a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and fundamentals in calculus, differential equations, physics, statics, dynamics, and thermodynamics. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or STEM field required.
• Experience with Calculus.
• Experience with Differential Equations.
• Experience with Physics (calculus based).
• Experience with Statics.
• Experience with Dynamics.
• Experience with Mechanics of materials.
• Experience with Thermodynamics.
• Experience with Heat transfer.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD& T) and ASME drawing and documentation standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities involve collaborating with senior team members on RF system design for thermal and high vibration environments.
• Involves electronics packaging design.
• Assignments may include thermal and structural design and analysis.
• Involves electrical component design, construction and failure modes.
• Involves Printed wiring board and circuit card assembly processes and best practices.
• Involves surface mount and through hole component installation processes and failure modes.
• Involves metal fabrication and finishing methods.
• Involves RF isolation mechanical design.
• Involves environmental test methods and equipment.
