Job summary

Collins Aerospace is offering a Mechanical Design Engineering Internship in Winston‑Salem, NC. You will design mechanical components, prepare NX drawings, and evaluate materials for new designs.

You’ll work in a cross‑functional team, participate in design reviews, and perform calculations to validate concepts. Candidates should be pursuing a STEM degree and have CAD experience with CREO, NX, SolidWorks or similar tools.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in a STEM field and enrolled through the internship/co-op period.
• Experience with CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, NX, Catia, AutoCAD, Autodesk or equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies with a focus on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Prepare, modify, and release NX drawings to ensure fit, form, and function of designs.
• Evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs.
• Collaborate with a cross‑functional team and participate in design reviews.
• Perform design studies to validate proposals and support development activities.
• Conduct engineering calculations to size and validate components.
• Utilize DFMA to validate and optimize design content.
