Job summary

RTX in El Segundo, CA seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer I to support design, integration and test across space programs. You will perform opto-mechanical component design using Creo and assist with lab assembly, integration and test activities alongside a team of engineers.

You will create and revise opto-mechanical drawings, generate assembly instructions and contribute to design for producibility and manufacturability for EO/IR space hardware. A B.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (STEM) by start date.
• Experience with CAD software or CREO.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• The Mechanical Design Engineer I will support design, integration and test across multiple space programs in El Segundo, CA.
• The selected candidate will perform mechanical component design on opto-mechanical systems using Creo, and support assembly, integration and test activities in a lab environment.
• The candidate is expected to work with a team of specialized junior and senior manufacturing and mechanical engineers to support the design, build and test of EO/IR space hardware.
• Responsibilities include creating and/or revising opto-mechanical designs/drawings, generating assembly instructions and providing build support in conjunction with technicians and other engineering disciplines, as well as design for producibility and manufacturability.
