Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for Aerospace & Hydraulics in Bethpage, NY. You will own projects from concept through testing, qualification and production, designing mechanical and hydraulic components for aerospace applications.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality and test teams to deliver highly engineered parts. Ideal candidates hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years in mechanical design, and strong CAD skills (SolidWorks).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) is required.
• Minimum 3+ years in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable CAD software.
• Experience designing mechanical systems, components, or assemblies.
• Experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and product development from concept through production release.
• Create detailed drawings, models, and data packs for aerospace components.
• Perform engineering analyses including tolerance, structural, hydraulic, and vibration analyses.
• Develop qualification test plans and oversee testing activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, testing, and engineering teams.
• Serve as technical contact for customers and support continuous improvement.
