Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Burbank, CA to design and develop aerospace components using CATIA V5 and PLM (3DX). The role focuses on manufacturability, standards compliance, and integration at engine and vehicle levels within DMU environments.

You will generate 2D drawings, GD&T per ASME Y14.5, perform tolerance analyses, and support manufacturing, shops, and vendors. A Bachelor’s in aerospace or mechanical engineering and several years of CATIA V5 experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years aerospace design and drafting experience with CATIA V5 hours (6,000 hours) or 2+ years with 4,000 hours.
• CATIA V5 courses strongly desired and ASME Y14.5 certification is a plus.
• Background in mechanical design and new product development within aerospace environments.
• Experience with sheet metal design and aerospace structures is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models in CATIA V5 including par ame terized assemblies.
• Develop details and assemblies within engine- and vehicle-level DMU environments.
• Model components using local and global coordinate systems and generate 2D drawings.
• Use PLM (3DX) and follow configuration management for design data.
• Write Engineering Orders and update drawings and models per configuration control.
