Job summary

Aurex, based in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking an early-career Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer to apply MBSE, SysML, and M&S to help define architectures, evaluate performance, manage interfaces, and support prototype flight hardware.

The ideal candidate has a strong systems engineering foundation and collaborates with simulation, GNC, software, electrical, mechanical, test, and flight teams to develop models that inform engineering decisions and hardware development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, systems engineering or related technical field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant aerospace/defense engineering experience.
Practical experience with SysML and MBSE concepts.
Experience using SysML tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain SysML system models for architecture, requirements, behaviors, interfaces, and verification.
Apply MBSE across the lifecycle from concept to flight demonstration.
Translate concepts into logical and physical architectures and support interfaces.
Create diagrams and models (block definitions, internal diagrams, state machines, etc.).
Ensure traceability between requirements, models, tests, and verification evidence.
Collaborate with GNC, software, electrical, mechanical, and test teams to connect SysML with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or Modelica models.
Lead MBSE implementation activities and help identify design risks and interface conflicts.
