Collins Aerospace in Cheshire, CT is seeking a Metallurgist to perform analytical testing and support failure analyses for multiple product lines. You will work with Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve issues from suppliers to customers and support material qualification/validation efforts.

The role emphasizes metals knowledge, interpretation of specifications, and hands-on metallurgical testing in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment supporting material failure analysis and root cause/corrective action.
• Knowledge of microstructural and physical properties of metals; ability to read material specs.

Responsabilités

• Perform analytical testing (micro-sectioning, SEM/EDS, XRF, XRay, tensile, hardness) to support failure analyses.
• Support qualification/validation for material/supplier obsolescence.
• Assist product design and performance with daily production of product lines.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve issues from suppliers to customers.
