Job summary

RTX Global Technologies in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Materials and Process Engineer II to operate laboratory equipment, perform materials analysis, and design experiments for polymeric materials such as adhesives, paints and resins. The role involves testing, data analysis, and preparing technical reports to support process improvements and material qualification.

You will work with engineers and production teams to update specifications and ensure safety compliance; the position offers onsite

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Experience in wet chemistry and laboratory equipment (microscopes, viscometer, mixers, Instron, etc.)
• Experience in OSHA, Cal-OSHA, local laboratory/chemical safety regulations, laboratory protocols, handling hazardous materials, proper industrial hygiene and personal protective equipment

• Operate laboratory and manufacturing equipment
• Perform materials analysis & characterization
• Investigate opportunities for process improvements
• Design of experiments
• Produce and evaluate polymeric materials such as adhesives, paints and resins
• Perform chemical and mechanical testing of materials
• Analyze test data and prepare technical reports
• Material Obsolescence solution - Formulation, material characterization, and qualification of replacement materials
• Interact with engineers, subject matter experts, production personnel, and management to create/update clear, concise, and accurate M&P specifications and other process documents.
