Job summary

Ontic Creedmoor in Creedmoor, North Carolina, is seeking a Materials & Process Engineer to support sustainment and development of aerospace components. You will work with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and suppliers to select, qualify materials, evaluate processes and resolve obsolescence.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Materials Science/Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of materials and process engineering experience.
• Knowledge of metallic/non-metallic materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Provide materials and process engineering support for existing products and new development.
• Develop material specs, process requirements and standards.
• Investigate legacy materials and develop alternatives with justification.
• Support heat treatment, plating, coatings, bonding and machining processes.
• Lead root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate testing and supplier qualification documentation.
• Collaborate with Design Eng, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain.
