Job summary

Ontic seeks a Value Stream Engineer to provide technical leadership for assigned product lines within a fast-paced aerospace Value Stream in Creedmoor, NC. You will own engineering deliverables through the lifecycle and coordinate cross-functional teams across IPTs to meet program objectives.

The role emphasizes developing project plans, schedules, and technical requirements while partnering with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to drive on-time delivery and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
• 2–5 years of manufacturing experience in production, engineering, or value stream environment.
• Experience developing or supporting project plans, schedules and budgets for small to mid-size technical projects.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams, preferably IPT environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
• Ability to coordinate technical activities and deliverables across multiple business functions.
• Experience identifying, evaluating, and mitigating technical and project risks.
• Strong problem-solving skills to drive issues to resolution.
• Exposure to ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication across organization levels.
• Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer-focused mindset with transparency and trust.
• Ability and willingness to travel 5–10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering support for assigned product lines within the Value Stream.
• Own and coordinate engineering deliverables across the lifecycle of programs and projects.
• Support development and execution of project plans, schedules, technical requirements, and budgets.
• Lead technical delivery of complex work packages while coordinating cross-functional resources in an IPT.
• Partner with Value Stream and Engineering leadership to support business objectives.
• Translate customer and business requirements into defined technical requirements and deliverables.
• Monitor changes and evaluate potential impacts on scope, schedule, and contracts.
• Serve as technical interface between customers, Engineering, and internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain customer relationships through proactive communication and technical support.
• Collaborate with Engineering managers and teams to ensure on-time delivery of commitments.
• Coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Engineering, and Value Stream leadership to resolve technical issues.
• Identify, evaluate, manage, and mitigate technical risks throughout program lifecycle.
• Drive timely resolution of technical issues to progress work within the IPT.
• Manage technical communication and escalation between customers and Engineering.
• Communicate status across teams and management.
• Promote collaboration and effective communication across the organization.
• Ensure activities comply with processes, standards, and requirements.
• Support continuous improvement in product performance and Value Stream effectiveness.
