Job summary

You will select, qualify and substitute materials, develop specifications and evaluate processes, collaborating across design, manufacturing, quality and suppliers. You will tackle legacy materials, drive improvements and ensure compliance with demanding performance and reliability standards, contributing to product availability and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a materials/engineering field from ABET-accredited program.
• At least 3 years of materials and process engineering experience.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and material specs.
• Ability to investigate nonconformances and propose solutions.
• Strong analytical, research and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide materials and process engineering support for products and new development.
• Develop and maintain material specs and manufacturing process requirements.
• Investigate obsolete materials and develop technically justified alternatives.
• Support heat treatment, plating, coatings, bonding, welding and machining processes.
• Lead or support investigations, root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Develop qualification plans and coordinate lab testing.
• Collaborate with Design Eng, Manufacturing, Quality and suppliers to resolve issues.
