Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks an Engineering Intern in Materials & Processes and Mechanical Disciplines at Pratt & Whitney for 10–12 weeks. You will engage in engine component evaluation, materials development and testing for commercial and military jet engines.

The program emphasizes hands-on experience, data analysis, and collaboration within cross-functional teams, with onsite work at RTX facilities in the United States.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or advanced degree in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• Active enrollment through internship completion and a minimum 60 credit hours by start date.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.
• Experience via on-the-job work, research, coursework or projects is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for engine component evaluation, materials and/or chemical process development, analyses, testing and other support functions for both commercial and military jet engine applications.
• Specific tasks may include mechanical testing, structural analysis or structural software tool development, materials analysis, metallurgical or chemical analysis, inspection processes or coating property analysis.
• Document and analyze data/results, prepare reports and presentations, draw conclusions and make recommendations based on experimental findings.
