Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies in Wichita seeks a skilled Masking Technician to prepare aerospace components for processing, applying masking materials with precision to protect areas during painting, coating and chemical treatments.

You will inspect work, maintain records, and collaborate with engineers and quality personnel to ensure adherence to specifications and safety protocols while supporting a clean, efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• Previous masking experience, preferably in aerospace.
• Strong attention to detail, dexterity, and ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification is a plus.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Apply masking materials (tapes, plugs, liquid masks) per specifications and blueprints.
• Inspect components before and after masking for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain accurate records of masking materials used and time spent per task.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and quality control to ensure workflow and quality.
• Maintain and clean masking tools and equipment to keep them in good condition.
• Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
