Blue Origin LLC seeks a senior quality engineering leader to drive aerospace manufacturing quality, audits, and continuous improvement. You will lead a team across QA operations, supplier quality, and nonconformance processes while partnering with Manufacturing, Design, and Test to embed quality at every product lifecycle stage.

The role requires 8+ years in quality within aerospace, strong leadership, and experience with AS9100 and regulatory interfaces (FAA/NASA).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive quality engineering or quality management in aerospace/defense/advanced manufacturing.
• 3+ years of direct people management experience with high-performing teams.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and ability to lead audits.
• Experience managing nonconformance processes and corrective actions (AS9102 FAI).
• Proven root-cause analysis capabilities (8D, Fishbone, FMEA) and sustainable actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication to senior leadership.

Responsabilités

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Quality Engineers, Specialists, and Inspectors.
• Execute daily manufacturing quality operations and set objectives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Champion adherence to AS9100 across manufacturing operations and lead audits.
• Develop and track quality KPIs; drive corrective actions for adverse trends.
• Manage QA operating budget and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Design, Supply Chain, and Test teams to embed quality.
• Serve as QA rep during hardware acceptance reviews and readiness reviews.
• Support Supplier Quality in addressing nonconformances affecting production.
• Interface with FAA, NASA, and customers to communicate quality status.
