Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a senior Quality leader to dirigir quality across manufacturing, overseeing engineers, specialists and inspectors. You will drive AS9100 compliance, audits, and continuous improvement while partnering with manufacturing, design, supply chain, and test teams to embed quality at every lifecycle stage.

Ideal candidates bring 12+ years in aerospace quality, strong root-cause capabilities, and a proven record of leading high-performing teams.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive quality engineering or quality management experience in aerospace/defense
• 7+ years of direct people management experience
• Working knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems and ability to lead audits
• Experience managing nonconformance processes and AS9102 First Article Inspections
• Proven ability to lead root cause analyses (8D, Fishbone, FMEA) and drive corrective actions
• Strong written and verbal communication to present quality data to senior leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Quality Engineers, Specialists and Inspectors to execute daily manufacturing quality operations
• Champion adherence to the AS9100 Quality Management System across manufacturing operations; lead internal audit activities
• Develop and track quality metrics and KPIs; prepare variance analyses and initiate corrective actions
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Test teams to embed quality at every stage of the product lifecycle
• Serve as the primary Quality representative during hardware acceptance reviews, launch readiness reviews, and customer audits
• Interface with regulatory agencies (FAA, NASA) and customers as required to communicate quality status and corrective actions
