Job summary

RTX’s North Berwick, Maine facility seeks a dual-role Engineer to support Quality & Manufacturing Engineering on an Alternate Work Week schedule. You’ll lead root-cause analyses for escapes and non-conformances, review processes and instructions, and partner with Engineering and Customer Support to drive regulatory-compliant quality improvements.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree and 3 years of experience in Quality, Engineering or Operations in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Defense, Automotive or other heavily regulated industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 7+ years of relevant industry experience. We will also consider High School Diploma or specialized Technical or Military training and 9+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams that investigate root causes of customer escapes and non-conformances; determine and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Perform product, process and work instruction reviews.
  • Review and approve FAI’s, Service Masters, Work Instructions.
  • Interface with Engineering groups and Customer Support to resolve technical/quality issues.
  • Lead and participate in ACE/QUALITY-focused teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to inspectors.
  • Interface with off-shift production supervision to prevent quality work stoppages.
  • Create/document QN through SAP.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies, customers, and external vendors to resolve technical/quality issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100, AS9102, ISO9001.
  • Quality Stamp control and variation control.
