Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Prep Technician to join our Austin-area team. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Planning, Warehouse, and Manufacturing Eng.

teams to prepare incoming jobs and ensure production readiness, from printing instructions to staging work for the production line. We hire across experience levels, from entry to senior, and encourage all qualified candidates to apply.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, production, R&D, or related fields.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, manufacturing orders, and basic technical drawings.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail in part verification, documentation, cleanliness, and production readiness.
• Experience with ERP or manufacturing tracking systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Review planned work orders and align daily priorities with production leads.
• Prepare incoming jobs for production by printing work instructions and documents, assembling packets, and staging work.
• Unpack parts, organize hardware, and verify all required parts are present and correct.
• Use ERP to consume parts and support material shortages.
• Visually inspect incoming parts for damage and non-conformance.
• Clean hardware using approved methods and perform part marking.
• Perform prep-level assembly steps as required.
• Escalate issues to resolve inventory, BOM, or documentation problems.
