Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for an established Aerospace Components firm in California. You will lead the manufacturing engineering group, drive process improvements, and support the transition of new products into manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in aerospace manufacturing, 2+ years leading teams, strong project management, and proficiency in reading drawings, GD&T, and RCCA methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 8+ years’ experience in Aerospace manufacturing.
• 2+ years’ experience managing teams.
• Must read manufacturing drawings, electrical schematics, and process procedures.
• FMEA, A3, Fishbone, RCCA methods familiarity.
• GD&T knowledge and SolidWorks proficiency.
• Familiarity with ISO, AS9100, ITAR, and DFAR preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and MRP/ERP environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; high ethics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and prioritizes activities of manufacturing engineering group.
• Manages plant productivity projects and overall performance.
• Provides technical support on the shop floor and to transition new products.
• Develops and reports KPIs such as first pass yield, scrap, MTBF, and productivity.
• Creates/maintains routers, work instructions, and MPS.
• Identifies/implements process improvements; drives MRB actions.
• Leads staff of 3+ direct reports and conducts one-on-one reviews.
