Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a RTX company, seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the Manufacturing Engineering organization in a high-mix, high-volume aerospace metal-mechanics environment. The role is onsite in the greater Austin, TX area and requires 8+ years of leadership in manufacturing engineering with experience in SAP/ERP/MES and PFMEA.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• 8+ years of progressive Manufacturing Engineering experience, with leadership of engineering teams and responsibility for performance and CI in aerospace/automotive manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of SAP, ERP, MES, and manufacturing data systems.
• Strong knowledge of PFMEA, process capability, SPC, MSA, DOE, root-cause analysis, and structured problem solving.
• Experience with aerospace metal-mechanics components and processes (machining, welding, assembly, chemical processing, heat treatment).

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute the Manufacturing Engineering strategy for a high-mix, high-volume aerospace metal-mechanics environment.
• Ensure alignment of product requirements, engineering specs, manufacturing processes, data, and shop-floor execution.
• Ensure compliance with NADCAP, AS9100, FAA, OSHA, environmental, and aerospace quality requirements.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and suppliers to resolve constraints.
• Optimize processes, capacity, labor, equipment, and cycle time to support production growth.
• Lead manufacturing technology, automation, and capital investments.
• Develop Manufacturing Engineering talent through coaching and standardization.
• Travel up to 25%.
