Job summary

Collins Aerospace offers a full-time co-op in Melbourne, FL, focused on industrial engineering and aerospace manufacturing. You will join a mentorship program, participate in cost-reduction initiatives, and help implement shop floor management improvements.

The role supports KPI reporting and data-driven operations, with exposure to site leadership and cross-functional teams across manufacturing and logistics.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 credit hours by the start of the co-op session.
• Familiarity with electronics and lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced formulas) and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session that will run January-August (Spring semester implied).
• Co-facilitate events, activities, and projects to deliver value to customers and KPIs.
• Identify drivers of cost and propose alternative cost-reduction solutions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and RTX CORE methodology.
• Support shop floor management strategies, including Visual Management, Cell Design, and Material Flow.
• Act as a culture champion and change agent.
• Provide onsite support.
