Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Largo, FL, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support depot and production programs at the Largo Consolidated Manufacturing Center (CMC). The ME will develop and manage manufacturing documentation, processes and work instructions using the digital tools and applications utilized at the CMC.

The ME will provide production support on and off the factory floor for programs ranging from initial factory introduction to sustaining activities.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
• 2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
• Experience with disposition nonconforming material utilizing root cause and corrective action analysis

Responsibilities

• Follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program / functional supervision to ensure overall program and site targets are met.
• Conduct technical and manufacturing data verifications, hardware verification, and safety/ergonomic assessments and implementations.
• Assist in the develop of work cell layouts to optimize product flow and factory floor space utilization.
• Plan for, develop, manage, and document manufacturing tooling and fixtures.
• Employ Lean Manufacturing techniques. Procedures, and instructions.
• Collaborates with parties within and outside of the job function regarding policies, Procedures, and practices.
• Requires knowledge of work area typically obtained through education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management.
