Job summary

Kodiak Aircraft is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Mid-Level) in Sandpoint, Idaho. You will work closely with mechanics to improve build processes, verify design intent, and develop manufacturable methods aligned with DFM practices.

The role reports as an individual contributor with no direct supervisory responsibilities, travel around 10% may be required, and a competitive base salary with a bonus plan is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering.
• 5–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience, aerospace or complex assembly.
• Strong CAD skills and ability to read drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience with DFM analysis and manufacturing documentation.
• ERP experience such as Epicor or SAP with eBOM/mBOM reconciliation.
• Good shop-floor credibility and root-cause problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Work with mechanics to solve build problems and make processes practical.
• Improve build sequences, work content, and line flow in assigned areas.
• Use CAD models to understand design intent and simplify production.
• Create manufacturing prints and models traceable to design.
• Present design-change cases to Design Engineering with leadership support.
• Support labor-hour reduction, tooling, ERP alignment, and supplier issues.
