Job summary
Actalent in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to translate design documents into manufacturable processes, develop tooling, and optimize production costs while meeting quality standards.
The role requires experience with sheet metal fabrication, CAD tools, ERP systems, and lean methods; you will collaborate with multiple departments and suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
This onsite position offers exposure to AS9100 processes and a disciplined manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or 7 years of related experience.
- Experience in aerospace sheet metal fabrication and AS9100 environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct R&D projects for new products and services.
- Prepare shop operation sketches, BOMs, and tool orders while controlling costs.
- Review customer docs to ensure manufacturing plans meet requirements.
- Design tooling drawings and coordinate fabrication, in-house or outsourced.
- Act as engineering liaison with customers on quality requirements.
- Resolve process issues and support manufacturing teams.
- Monitor lean metrics and drive continuous improvement in cells.
- Collaborate across departments and with customer reps.
