Job summary

Young & Franklin Tactair designs and manufactures hydraulic and pneumatic controls, valves and actuators for aerospace and energy markets. A 120,000 sq ft facility houses R&D, design engineering, assembly and a large machine shop.

The role focuses on developing and maintaining manufacturing processes in a high-mix, low-volume environment with continuous improvement at its core. You will drive productivity initiatives, support new business opportunities, and help implement factory-wide standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a technical discipline with 5+ years of experience.
  • Proficient with CAD software; Autodesk Inventor preferred.
  • Experience in robust fixture and tooling design.
  • Metrology, GD&T and automation design experience preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma project experience preferred; SMED experience valued.
  • Technical writing of work instructions, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to promote manufacturing process standardization and lead teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to direct others; multi-project prioritization.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize productivity by developing and implementing productivity projects.
  • Contribute to the productivity funnel and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Lead and participate in cost-cutting initiatives and metrics tracking.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Design Engineering on manufacturability.
  • Support ongoing production with methods, tooling and process documentation.
