Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking Manufacturing Engineers to develop manufacturing data packages, support daily production, and drive process improvements.

You will lead tool and fixture design, resolve non-conforming material, and apply Six Sigma and lean methods to reduce cycle time and costs.

Candidates must have a master’s degree in a STEM field, be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance, and be onsite in the DoD environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM major.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT, Project, or Word).
• Experience with CAD solid modeling tools.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designs
• Supporting daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting, incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP
• Dispositioning non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
• Driving Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using Six Sigma principles and data driven decision making
• Providing real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.
• Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics into processes
• Leading corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
