Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico seeks a Manufacturing Engineer I to support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes in our aerospace production operations. This is an onsite, early-career engineering role to help improve efficiency, quality, and safety.

The position works on 3rd shift, Monday through Friday, 9:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m., requires US citizenship and bilingual English/Spanish communication, and offers a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Co-op experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects focused on reducing cycle time, eliminating waste, and optimizing production workflows.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including assembly instructions, process flows, production routings, labor standards, and standard operating procedures.
• Support the design and implementation of tooling, fixtures, equipment setups, and machine programs to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Provide daily technical support to manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues, investigating process deviations, and helping resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Support investigation and disposition of nonconforming materials through root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Analyze manufacturing data and production metrics to identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce costs, enhance quality, and optimize resource utilization.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and other cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and maintain smooth production flow.
• Support ergonomic improvements, risk reduction, and automation initiatives to enhance workplace safety and manufacturing performance.
