Job summary

Advanced Reentry Technologies in California seeks a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join Arc Vehicle Integration. You will build, integrate, and test subsystems for the Arc hypersonic reentry vehicle, improve build sequences, and support the handoff from engineering to manufacturing.

You will work with design engineers and technicians to execute hardware assembly, troubleshoot issues, and help create tooling and fixtures using CAD.

Qualifications

• Currently a rising senior in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience authoring detailed assembly procedures and managing build configurations.
• Experience designing tooling, fixtures, or GSE in CAD and applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and improve manufacturing and assembly processes for complex mechanical systems.
• Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions, process documentation, and assembly procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, safety, and repeatability.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to review component and assembly designs for manufacturability and serviceability.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on tooling and assembly considerations.
• Support the transition of engineering designs into executable manufacturing processes.
• Work with technicians and engineers to support hardware assembly, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Identify root causes of manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collect and analyze manufacturing data to identify process improvements.
