Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems in San Jose, California is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to bridge engineering design and shop floor execution in an aerospace metal machine shop. You will model parts and tooling in PTC Creo, develop manufacturing processes for CNC milling, turning, and multi‑axis machining of aerospace alloys, and drive improvements in cycle time, quality, and cost.

The ideal candidate will read aerospace drawings, apply GD&T, and develop robust process plans and inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or 4 years experience substitution).
• At least 3 years of manufacturing engineering in a machine shop, aerospace/defense preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop process plans, routings, and operation sheets for new and existing parts.
• Define setups, workholding, datum schemes, and inspection points for repeatable production.
• Support First Article Inspection (AS9102) packages.
• Investigate nonconformances, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
• Provide real-time technical support to machinists, programmers, and inspectors.
• Assist quoting and estimating with manufacturability feedback and tooling costs.
• Offer design for manufacturability feedback to customers when appropriate.
