Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems in San Jose, CA is seeking a Journeyman Machinist to join our aerospace manufacturing team. You will program, set up, and operate 3-axis CNC vertical mills, as well as manual mills and lathes, machining aluminum, titanium, steel and copper to tight tolerances.

Qualifications include journeyman machinist status or equivalent, GD&T knowledge, and experience with precision measurement. We emphasize safety, quality, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Write CNC programs for 3-axis vertical mills from drawings and process docs.
• Read blueprints and GD&T to plan setups and inspections.
• Operate manual mills and lathes for precision parts.
• Work with aluminum, titanium, steel, and copper to tight tolerances.
• Perform in-process inspection with micrometers, calipers and CMM as needed.
• Maintain safe, clean work area following 5S and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis vertical mills.
• Set up and operate 3-axis CNC vertical mills.
• Set up and operate manual mills and lathes to produce parts.
• Machine aluminum, titanium, steel, and copper with proper tooling.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, and documentation to determine inspections.
• Perform first-article and in-process inspection with precision tools.
• Maintain 5S, safety, and housekeeping in the shop.
• Suggest tooling and process improvements for efficiency.
