Job summary

Averro is seeking an Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Programming) to collaborate with design, purchasing, and QA teams in Moses Lake, WA. You will develop CNC programs for flight test parts, select tooling, fixtures, and coordinate outside processes to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing engineering, multi-axis CNC programming, and knowledge of 3/4/5-axis machining, composites, welding, and flight structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Avionics, or related).
• 5+ years of aerospace manufacturing engineering experience, including multi-axis CNC programming and operation.
• Knowledge of 3/4/5-axis machining, composites, welding, sheet metal, flight structures, and wire diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Develop process plans and CNC programs for flight test and wind tunnel model parts and assemblies.
• Select tooling, design fixtures, and order material and cutters; coordinate outside processes (heat treat, EDM, grinding).
• Partner with Design Engineers, Purchasing, Operators, and QA to optimize methods and resolve part and tooling issues.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop process plans and CNC programs for flight test and wind tunnel model parts and assemblies
• Select tooling, design fixtures, and order material and cutters; coordinate outside processes (heat treat, EDM, grinding)
• Partner with Design Engineers, Purchasing, Operators, and QA to optimize methods and resolve part and tooling issues
• Support build plans, scheduling, cost tracking, and configuration control; provide shop floor documentation
• Lead technical modification work (assembly, installation, wiring) and support flight test system integration

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Avionics, or related)
• 5+ years of aerospace manufacturing engineering experience, including multi-axis CNC programming and operation
• Knowledge of 3/4/5-axis machining, composites, welding, sheet metal, flight structures, and wire diagrams
