Job summary

Parker Aerospace in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Machinist for the Weekend Shift (Saturday & Sunday, 5am - 3pm) to operate production machines from blueprints and route sheets. You will perform cutting, deburring, forming, drilling, and measuring parts to ensure quality and conformance.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of general or related machine shop experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
• Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
• Must be able to read and understand work instructions or blueprints.
• Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
• Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or more production machines working from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets.
• Perform repetitive machine operations including cutting, deburring, forming, drilling, and smoothing parts; make minor adjustments.
• Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures.
• Set feeds, speeds and depth of cut to machine quality parts.
• Perform reaming, tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring.
• Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged surfaces; remove burrs and sharp edges.
• Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using gauges or measuring instruments.
• Observe SPC requirements and safety rules.
