Job summary

Parker Aerospace is seeking a Machinist for the Weekend Shift (Saturday and Sunday, 5am–3pm) in Glendale, AZ. You will operate one or more production machines from blueprints and route sheets, set feeds and speeds, and inspect finished parts for quality.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–3 years machine shop experience, and ability to read work instructions and blueprints. Strong English communication and teamwork are required.

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years general or related machine shop experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
• Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
• Must be able to read and understand work instructions or blueprints.
• Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
• Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform repetitive machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming and smoothing parts.
• Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed.
• Set feeds, speeds and depth of cut to machine quality parts.
• Perform operations such as reaming, tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring.
• Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surfaces.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks cracks or other irregularities from machined parts.
• Inspect parts for conformance to specifications by visual examination and the use of gauges or other measuring instruments.
• Accurately and regularly perform SPC requirements.
• Observe safety rules and maintain a neat work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
