Job summary

Parker Aerospace is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (Sun–Thu, 11 pm–7 am) at the Glendale facility. This FAA repair station role involves setup and maintenance of NC machine tools, diagnostics, and repair of extensive machine shop equipment used on aerospace fuel systems.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 7 years of maintenance experience, and familiarity with schematics and electrical/ hydraulic systems. Competitive pay and full benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Seven years related maintenance experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
• Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches and machine tool testing procedures.
• May require ability to setup and operate hand and power tools.
• May require working knowledge of national, state and local electrical codes.
• May require thorough knowledge of electronic theory as applied to NC and standard machines, mechanical principles, machine shop mathematics.
• Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Setup and prepare NC machine tools from specifications or engineering data, calibrations and adjustments.
• Make test runs to ensure machine is in proper working order and repair malfunctions in control systems.
• Maintain standard machine tools (mills, lathes, shapers, planners, jig bores) and modify as needed.
• Design, fabricate and construct specialized machine tools as required from data and sketches.
• Perform major repairs on machine shop equipment and alignments.
• Relocate production machinery and install lines from main to machine; align for operation.
• Assist with design, installation, maintenance, repair of test stands, fixtures and hydraulic equipment.
• Setup and operate arc and acetylene welding equipment.
• Check and calibrate new or rebuilt equipment after installation.
• Locate, diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions.
• Install electrical wiring and related devices in powered units.
• Plan operations sequence and methods for complex repairs/overhauls.
• Coordinate and schedule work orders; determine manpower requirements.
• May work with software to create reports/spreadsheets.
• May coordinate hazardous material handling and cleanup as required.
