Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. seeks an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to ensure secure, documented systems ready for customer or third-party review. You will coordinate with IT, engineering, SOC, and Cybersecurity Lead to implement security requirements with evidence for audits.

Primary focus on NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2; will support ATO, SOC 2 Type II, ISO-aligned compliance, and other customer security needs as Apex grows.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• 3+ years for ISSO or security-focused role.
• Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2.
• Experience maintaining SSPs and security docs for formal reviews.
• Ability to validate evidence from identity, cloud, endpoint, network, and logging platforms.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the security point of contact for operations and keep teams informed on cyber posture.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity team on requirements, risk findings, and contract due dates.
• Maintain SSP, system inventory, policies, and evidence for CUI environment.
• Track NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 implementation at artifact level.
• Support ATO and RMF activities including creating/updating security docs and POA&Ms.
• Validate evidence from cybersecurity tools and platforms.
• Lead vulnerability and configuration remediation with system owners.
• Lead security reviews on privileged accounts and security requests.
