Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to ensure secure, documented systems ready for customer reviews.

You will collaborate with IT, engineering, the SOC, and the Cybersecurity Lead to implement security requirements with verifiable evidence, focusing on NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2. Responsibilities include maintaining security documentation, supporting ATO activities, and validating evidence from security tools.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship required.
• 3+ years in ISSO/security-compliance roles.
• Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-171, CMMC 2, and RMF.
• Experience maintaining security documentation and supporting formal reviews.
• Ability to validate evidence from identity, cloud, endpoint, network, vulnerability, and logging platforms.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the security point of contact for operations and keep teams informed on cyber posture.
• Assess requirements, risk findings, and due dates for contracts with Cybersecurity.
• Maintain the SSP, system inventory, policies, procedures, and supporting evidence for the CUI environment.
• Track NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 implementation at artifact level.
• Support ATO and RMF activities including POA&Ms with target completion dates.
• Validate evidence from CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, Tenable, and Jira.
• Lead vulnerability and configuration remediation with system owners and set clear ownership and dates.
• Lead security reviews on privileged accounts, terminated users, vulnerability results, and other security requests.
