Job summary

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) is seeking an Instrument Technician for Arnold AFB in Tennessee. The role involves calibrating and repairing instruments used in aeronautical tests and research, operating under general supervision within a lab/field environment.

The candidate will work on electrical and mechanical measurements, participate in safety training, and may train junior technicians. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Four years of experience in technical instrumentation with six months of coursework in electronics or instrumentation.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English to safely understand and execute technical manuals, safety procedures, and operational instructions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and satisfy requirements for access to the AEDC local area network.
• Current U.S. Citizenship is required due to Department of Defense security and federal contract requirements at AEDC.

Responsibilities

• Modifies, fabricates, maintains, repairs, and calibrates a wide variety of mechanical, optical, electrical, electromechanical, and electronic indicating and recording instruments and precision measuring equipment.
• Performs diagnostic and troubleshooting activities for discrete and digital logic instrument control systems.
• Connects instruments to computers and recording devices.
• Adjusts and calibrates instruments as directed and adapts them to new or extended uses.
• Assists in servicing and adjusting computers, microprocessors, and peripheral devices.
• Uses a wide variety of instruments, tools, and equipment to perform duties.
• Works primarily in a laboratory or field equipment environment.
• Assists in training lower-level technicians.
• Wear PPE as required by supervision and policy.
• Performs other related duties as required
