Job summary

Beyond New Horizons (BNH) invites applications for an Instrumentation, Data and Controls (ID&C) Engineer to support the Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. The role focuses on integrating high-precision instrumentation, data acquisition, and motion control for cutting-edge aerospace testing, with a path toward mission-critical performance improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics engineering.
Minimum 5 years’ engineering experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and access to DoD network.
S. Citizenship is required due to federal government contract and Air Force security mandates.

Responsibilities

System design and ownership— Lead the design, development, and lifecycle engineering of advanced Instrumentation, Data, and Controls systems, automated controls, and HMI software.
Mission-Critical Test Operations— Drive active ground test operations, lead ID&C system integration, real-time troubleshooting, and rapid return to service.
Engineering & Analysis— Translate high-level operational concepts into definitive system requirements, specifications, and design calculations.
Vendor & Project Leadership— Manage technical interfaces with subcontractors and equipment manufacturers, owning schedules to guarantee on-time delivery.
Team Mentorship — Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering technical growth.
