Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Hampton, VA is seeking a Process Owner for IGT Casting (Foundry) to lead mold preheat and casting processes across Equiax, DS, SX, and Fine Grain programs, ensuring compliance with methods, materials, and equipment.

You will partner with engineering and manufacturing, author work instructions, drive standard work and Six Sigma to reduce scrap, train shop personnel, and develop best practices while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Materials Science or Metallurgy preferred, but related degrees with experience may be considered.
• US work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Export-controlled data access restrictions apply.

Responsibilities

• Own the mold preheat and casting processes across multiple casting technologies.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing & Engineering to meet plant objectives.
• Author and approve work instructions for your areas of responsibility.
• Drive standard work and Six Sigma tools to reduce scrap and rework.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and participate in scrap reduction teams.
• Develop best practices and audit plans using the Casting Manual and MSAT.
