Howmet Aerospace is hiring a Casting Technician for the Hampton Structural Castings group in Hampton, Virginia. The role operates casting furnaces, coordinates alloy and temperature controls, and ensures accurate process records.

The 1st shift runs Monday–Friday, 6am–2pm, with training on the same hours. New hire starting rate is $21.07 per hour, increasing to $23.41 after 6 months, plus a $1 per hour shift premium when on off shifts.

Qualifikationen

• Resume and two professional references required.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of continuous related manufacturing experience or training; graduates must provide a letter of recommendation.
• Availability for all shifts (including 2nd, 3rd and weekend shifts) and ability to work overtime; schedules may vary.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.
• Position involves access to export-controlled items and eligibility is required.

Aufgaben

• Operates and maintains casting furnaces.
• Coordinates job numbers with correct alloy, weight, and temperature per PMS.
• Ensures charges are identified and matched to numbers and lot routers.
• Transports ingots to work area and loads into charge box.
• Handles molds from pre-heat to casting furnace.
• Monitors gauges for correct settings, pour speed, and crucible size.
• Determines correct pump down time to vacuum levels.
• Replaces crucibles/packs crucibles using grog per best practices.
• Records temperature and signals team for mold removal from preheat.
• Keeps work area clean and participates in 6S programs.
