Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Verification and Validation (Hardware) Engineer/Technician to join our Aerospace Engineering team in the United States. You will develop and execute Python-based validation scripts to test embedded hardware interfaces and work in a lab environment with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of hardware validation, testing, or automation.
• Hands-on board-level debugging and hardware troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of hardware communication protocols (UART, RS-422/485, SPI, I2C, GPIO, Ethernet, CAN).
• Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and signal generators.
• Ability to create test plans, execute tests, and analyze results; Git experience.
• Knowledge of aerospace safety standards such as DO-178C preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute Python-based hardware validation scripts for embedded systems.
• Translate hardware requirements into test procedures and pass/fail criteria for interfaces (UART, RS-422/485, SPI, I2C, GPIO, Ethernet, CAN).
• Use lab equipment to diagnose and test hardware, firmware, and test setups.
• Perform root-cause analysis and maintain robust Python code with logging; use Git for version control and code reviews.
• Maintain test documentation and support test automation improvements across teams.
