Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer (Python Validation) to join our Aerospace Engineering team in Deer Valley, AZ. You will develop and execute Python-based validation scripts, perform board-level and interface tests on embedded hardware, translate requirements into test procedures, and document results.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain code with Git, and contribute to root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in hardware validation, testing, or automation.
• Basic Python scripting for hardware testing and validation.
• Hands-on debugging of hardware and interfaces.
• Experience with board-level testing and hardware troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with UART, RS-422/485, SPI, I2C, GPIO, Ethernet, CAN.
• Knowledge of DO-178C is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute Python-based hardware validation scripts.
• Perform board-level and interface testing for embedded hardware systems.
• Translate hardware requirements into test procedures and pass/fail criteria.
• Validate and troubleshoot interfaces including UART, RS-422/485, SPI, I2C, GPIO, Ethernet, CAN.
• Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and signal generators.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and drive issue resolution.
• Create maintainable Python code with logging and error handling.
• Maintain test documentation and execution reports.
• Support test automation improvements and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
