Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Hardware Reliability Engineer to drive reliability from design through production and flight. You will work across design, test and manufacturing on avionics components, analyze failures and champion Lean quality methods in a hands-on lab and shop floor environment.

You will monitor production, perform root-cause analysis, and develop robust test/inspection processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams to reduce risk and improve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (EE, CE, ME, AE, materials, manufacturing, chemical or engineering physics)
• 1+ years in manufacturing, quality and/or design engineering role (student projects or internships qualify)

Responsibilities

• Partner with design, test, and manufacturing to ensure avionics reliability.
• Track yield, test escapes, and capture lessons for NPIs.
• Develop, implement and validate lean test and inspection processes.
• Monitor production ramp-up with quality and analysis tools.
• Conduct build quality reviews to ensure design intent and drive improvements.
• Investigate failures to identify root causes and mitigate risk.
• Perform electrical root cause analysis using schematics and test gear.
• Conduct gage R&R to validate test systems.
• Support shop floor with Lean autonomous production and standard rework/repair guides.
• Create optimization of critical processes and reduce complexity in designs.
