Job summary

Qarbon Aerospace is seeking a cost accountant responsible for government contract cost accounting, including EAC analysis, CAS/FAR/DFARS compliance, and DCAA audits. You will work with program management, contracts, and operations to ensure accurate cost recognition and reporting.

The role requires 3–7+ years of aerospace/defense cost accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, and familiarity with ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint or SAP. U.S.

Qualifications

• US citizen or permanent resident per ITAR rules
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–7+ years of government contract cost accounting experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing
• Working knowledge of DCAA, CAS, FAR/DFARS, and EAC methodology
• Experience with ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint or SAP

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly EACs across assigned contracts/programs, including actuals, ETC, and risk assessments
• Support program EAC reviews with Program Managers, Finance, and Ops leadership
• Maintain compliance with CAS, FAR Part 31, and DFARS cost principles
• Support DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions, and disclosure statement maintenance
• Perform indirect rate development, cost pool allocations, and variance analysis
• Ensure proper cost accumulation by CLIN and WBS
• Reconcile job cost data between ERP/MRP systems and general ledger
• Support proposal cost volume development and forward pricing rate proposals
• Monitor contract funding, ceiling limitations, and cost overrun risk
• Assist with revenue recognition under ASC 606 tied to EAC data
• Support internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit readiness
