Job summary

Qarbon Aerospace is seeking a Government Cost Accountant in Red Oak, TX to manage cost accounting on government contracts, including EAC analysis and compliance with DCAA, CAS, and FAR/DFARS. You will work with program management, contracts, and operations to ensure accurate cost recognition, reporting, and SOX considerations.

The role involves preparing monthly EACs, supporting audits, and developing cost pools and rates while ensuring proper cost accumulation by CLIN/WBS and revenue

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent resident per ITAR guidelines.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–7+ years of government contract cost accounting experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of DCAA, CAS, FAR/DFARS, and EAC methodology.
• Experience with ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint, SAP, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly EACs across contracts/programs with actuals, ETC, and risk assessments.
• Support program EAC reviews with PMs, Finance, and Ops leadership.
• Maintain CAS, FAR Part 31, and DFARS cost principles compliance.
• Support DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions, and disclosure statement maintenance.
• Perform indirect rate development, cost pool allocations, and variance analysis.
• Ensure proper cost accumulation by CLIN and WBS; reconcile ERP/MRP to GL.
• Support proposal cost volumes and forward pricing rate proposals.
• Monitor funding, ceilings, and cost overrun risk; assist ASC 606 revenue recognition.
