Job summary

Quest Defense Systems & Solutions seeks an FPGA/Firmware Engineer to develop and verify complex FPGA solutions for safety-critical aerospace systems, following the DO‑254 DAL A lifecycle and using DOORS for requirements traceability. You will work with hardware, software, and systems teams to solve challenging design problems from requirements through hardware validation.

This role requires U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance; relocation assistance is available for the

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
• 5+ years FPGA experience.
• Experience with DO-254 DAL A lifecycle and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement complex FPGA solutions in VHDL/Verilog for safety-critical aerospace apps.
• Maintain hardware requirements and bidirectional traceability using DOORS.
• Define digital architectures and evaluate timing/resource tradeoffs.
• Perform RTL simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, timing analysis and closure.
• Develop verification plans, testbenches, and verification evidence.
• Collaborate across electrical, software, systems and test engineering teams.
• Manage design files with Git or Subversion.
