Job summary

CPP Corporation is seeking a Facilities Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support and improve high‑temperature foundry processes. You will focus on PLC‑based controls and instrumentation, with hands‑on work on furnaces and shell building systems.

PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley) is central, and Ignition SCADA experience is a plus. You will lead modernization projects, coordinate with maintenance and IT, and ensure reliability and safety across major equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering preferred; relevant experience may substitute for degree.
• Oregon LME license or higher preferred; licensing after hire may be required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation, instrumentation, or PLC controls; foundry or investment casting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain PLC control systems for foundry process equipment and facility utilities.
• Program and troubleshoot Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix systems using ladder logic and related languages.
• Support plant instrumentation including sensors, transmitters, actuators, and safety circuits in high‑temperature processes.
• Integrate or support Ignition SCADA systems; Inductive Automation experience is preferred.
• Lead modernization projects, including PLC/HMI upgrades and migration of legacy control platforms.
• Improve equipment reliability and process stability across melting, shell building, leaching, heat treat, and foundry operations.
• Create and maintain wiring diagrams, loop drawings, instrumentation schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Oversee contractors and integrators during installations, commissioning, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, IT, and Engineering on optimization and continuous improvement.
