Job summary

Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) seeks a Facilities Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support the foundry's high-temperature processes at our Albany, Oregon facilities. You will work on PLC-based controls and instrumentation for furnaces, autoclaves, and shell-building systems.

The role emphasizes Allen-Bradley PLC programming, SCADA integration (Ignition preferred), and modernization projects to boost reliability and process stability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering preferred; equivalent relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Oregon LME license or higher preferred; ability to meet licensing requirements after hire is expected.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation, instrumentation, or PLC controls; foundry or investment casting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain PLC control systems for foundry process equipment and facility utilities.
• Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix systems using ladder logic and related control languages.
• Support plant instrumentation including sensors, transmitters, actuators, and safety circuits used in high-temperature industrial processes.
• Integrate or support Ignition SCADA systems; experience with Inductive Automation tools is preferred.
• Lead modernization projects, including PLC/HMI upgrades and migration of legacy control platforms.
• Improve equipment reliability and process stability across melting, shell building, leaching, heat treat, and critical foundry operations.
• Create and maintain wiring diagrams, loop drawings, instrumentation schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Oversee contractors and integrators during instrumentation installations, commissioning, and system upgrades.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, IT, and Engineering on process optimization, data analysis, and continuous improvement.
